017 Optimism and the Death of a good man

Did you know that today is Good Friday? Arguably the most important day in the Christian calendar! Strange then that I have found myself thinking about optimism when my faith path leads me to the crucifixion today. Perhaps this is not as strange as you might think. Optimists get a hard time these days: we… Continue reading 017 Optimism and the Death of a good man

016 Litter Trays, Sand therapy & the value you give to yourself

I have had a number of conversations recently about the value of 'things'; the value we add to those around us; and the value of learning. I love the idea of Adding Value - I first came across it in a little book by John Maxwell called 360 Leader. This book impacted me with it's core… Continue reading 016 Litter Trays, Sand therapy & the value you give to yourself

015 Finding your purpose and some Japanese thinking (Ikigai)

I recently wrote about how knowing your purpose is a key to living in joy. But what if we don't know our purpose? What if we've never been able to work it out? - Then this post will really, practically help you... 014 Knowing your purpose is a key to living in joy

She pondered the thought and smiled as she said slowly "I don't know". I could see a few things… Continue reading 013 Joy can be found intentionally

When life gets tough always remember…

What will you do when life feels impossible?

StuartWriting

I was talking with my son yesterday and he was feeling disappointed about a 100m race he participated in. He’s been running for a while now and was doing really well, but last month he changed age bracket, from under-12s to under-15s. He’s now racing against The Flash, Usain Bolt and a teenage gorilla wearing Nikes! At least that’s how he feels. He’s aware that he’s younger, smaller, slower and has hit a turning point in his ‘running career’. It’s the point where he needs to choose either P or Q:

Option Q = QuitImage result for gorilla wearing nikes

Option P = Persevere

He’s talking about quitting. We talked about it and he really does think he will not be as good as they are – he was 2 seconds behind the winner – that’s a lot for a 12 year old when you’re only moving 100 metres! For him it is make or…

You are blessed with the favour and love of God

Today's' post is a very short encouragement regarding God's view of you. We often view God as distant and unconcerned with our lives - but this is so far from the truth. There's a song in the bible that says the following: “But let all who take refuge in you rejoice; let them sing joyful… Continue reading You are blessed with the favour and love of God
